Our History
Our founders find inspiration in Cabo
2006
From Colorado to Cabo, Jordan and his father along with college friend Rob, begin a small project which will eventually become an international beer company.
Brewery equipment from the U.S. makes a week-long, 1,000 mile journey on three flatbed trucks to Baja. Our brewery's opening event attracts so much attention, we reach capacity almost immediately.
2007
BAJA BREWING COMPANY OPENS ITS DOORS
THE DONKEY BECOMES THE FACE OF THE BRAND
Late2007
After endless research and countless pints, the donkey is created and declared the official brand mascot.
Eight quality Baja draft beers are distributed to a dozen local restaurants. Our brewpub becomes the busiest place in town!.
2008
BAJA BEERS CATCH ON AS A LOCAL FAVORITE
WE EXPAND INTO A NEW LOCATION
2009
Our second cantina opens on the rooftop of Cabo Villas Beach Resort, which continues to have the best views in Cabo.
Baja Brewing Company produces its first bottled product, "Baja Blond," which is sold throughout Los Cabos.
2010
THE FIRST BAJA BEER IS BOTTLED
BAJA EXTENDS ITS REACH IN MEXICO
2011
Baja Brewing Company begins bottling four more beers and gains distribution in Mexico City. Cabo Marina, opens.
After much anticipation, the first truck of Cabotella crosses the border into Texas. Distribution expands throughout the United States.
2013
CABOTELLA ARRIVES IN THE USA
CATEGORY 5 HURRICANE HITS
THE BREWERY HARD
2014
Category 5 Hurricane Odile hits the brewery hard, but one hurricane didn't stop our beloved donkey. Soon after, we hosted the first annual Cabo Beer Fest and also launched "Buck for Baja" to help support the Cabo community post-hurricane.
Our original brewpub reopens debuting a brand new beer garden and store. Distribution expanded further into Mexico and several of our beers won national and international awards. We began bottling our popular IPA, increasing the line to seven beers.
2015
ORIGINAL BREWPUB REOPENS
THE DONKEY GOES GLOBAL AND GETS A NEW LOOK
2016
Available in parts of North America, Australia and South Africa.
Gets back up once again and creates Storm Ale beer just in time to celebrate the 10th Anniversary on December 4th.
2017
Baja Brewing gets hit by another hurricane, Lydia
New production facility in Tijuana & a Donkey Sanctuary
2018
Opens a new production facility in Tijuana. We join forces with Rancho Carisuva to create a Donkey Sanctuary.
Launch of our cans Peyote IPA & La Surfa Baja Lager.

Our seasonal beer line is finalized: Suculenta Saison, Mango Wheat, Lolobrije Camote Ale and Burro Winter Imperial Stout.
Our emblematic Donkey keeps trotting on, stronger than ever, we expand our territory in the USA and launch Arena Mead.
